| Cameron Leaver, Partner
Cameron leads Hicksons’ Insurance team and Public Sector Risks practice. For almost 30 years, Cameron has acted for the insurance industry and government in an extensive range of matters. His experience spans all areas of insurance law, but with a particularly focus on professional indemnity. In the area of professional indemnity, his primary experience has been in medical, engineering and construction claims.
Cameron’s experience in complex litigation has included significant cases that ran to the High Court of Australia. He has also represented clients in courts in every state and territory in Australia, at the federal level and in international jurisdictions.
| Karen Kumar, Partner
Karen is an experienced insurance lawyer, specialising in the health sector.
Prior to joining Hicksons, Karen spent time in private legal practice as well as in-house with insurers.
Karen represents health professionals and hospitals in civil, coronial and disciplinary matters. Her expertise in liability insurance involves public and general liability claims on instruction from insurers as well as claims made under industrial special risk policies.

| Claudine Watson-Kyme, Senior Associate
Claudine is a Senior Associate in our Health team.
The main focus of Claudine’s practice has been professional indemnity, where she has represented a broad range of professionals – including hospitals, doctors, veterinarians, pharmacists, allied health professionals and child care centres in litigious and disciplinary matters.
Claudine qualified as a registered nurse before completing her law degree and this adds specific medical expertise to her litigation practice.
