Bernard is a Consultant of Hicksons and a Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia where he takes regular classes in company law, competition and consumer law and mining and resource law.
Bernard’s main practice areas are corporate and commercial law, competition and consumer law and mining and resources law.
Working with a diverse range of companies in the building, resources, mining, agricultural, healthcare, pharmaceutical and government sectors, his experience spans a broad spectrum of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, business and share sales and corporate restructures. Committed to Hicksons promise to collaborate with clients to mitigate risks and provide certainty, Bernard also works closely with clients on consumer protection and product liability issues and has helped a number of clients with the design and implementation of their distribution and compliance programs.
Bernard holds a BA, LLB and LLM from the University of Sydney. He joined Hicksons in 2010 having previously been a partner for 20 years of a national law firm and before that in-house counsel at Esso Australia.
He was admitted as a solicitor in 1982 in New South Wales and subsequently in Victoria and Queensland.
