Refugee & Humanitarian Visas

Refugee and Humanitarian Visas allow people who are facing discrimination and persecution in their country to seek safety in Australia.
 
There are 6 types of humanitarian and refugee visas:

  • Global Special Humanitarian (subclass 202).
  • Protection visa (subclass 866).
  • Refugee visas (subclass 200, 201, 203 and 204).
  • Temporary Protection visa (subclass 785).
  • Safe Haven Enterprise visa (subclass 790).
  • Resolution of Status visa (subclass 851).
The general eligibility criteria for these visas is that you must:
  • Be subject to discrimination or persecution in your home country.
  • Be a refugee or fit Australia’s complimentary protection criteria.
  • Have a proposer to sponsor you in Australia. This can be a person or organisation.
  • Meet health and character requirements.
  • Have arrived in Australia legally.
