Freida is a commercial litigator with more than 25 years’ expertise in insurance-related litigation with a focus on liability claims and advice, claims management and complex multiparty claims. Freida obtained specialist accreditation in 1993 through the Law Society of NSW in personal injury law, which she maintains.
Her main areas of practice include: litigation; defending public and product liability claims; occupiers’ liability; government liability; contractor claims; institutional sexual abuse claims; complex multiple party litigation; and advising on indemnity issues. She also manages a portfolio of recovery claims on behalf of a major workers compensation insurer.
Freida has a special interest in
insurance law, local council liability, occupiers’ liability, public liability (scaffolding and cleaning system cases), historical institutional sexual abuse claims, construction site disputes involving principals and sub-contractors, malicious prosecution claims, dispute resolution, and risk management.
Freida has specialist skills in discrimination matters, disability issues and human rights law (involving: psychological injury, assault, bullying and cyber bullying). She also advises clients on processes, privacy, information and record retention issues.
Admitted to practice in NSW and Victoria, Freida began with the firm in 2013, holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Law and is an accredited specialist in personal injury law.
Freida is also a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee up to 30 June 2023
